Modern City Wedding at The Depot, London

Georgia and Tom’s vibrant city wedding at The Depot quanto a Islington was a breath of fresh air quanto a the heart of London.

Georgia looked effortlessly and romantic quanto a her Truvelle gown, a perfect blend of elegance and conforto, sourced from the truly excellent Heart Aflutter Bridal. Framed by an urban backdrop, she was joined by her bridesmaids quanto a bold trouser suits of pink, orange, and red, adding a joyful splash of colour and personality.

Captured beautifully by Beatrici Photography, this wedding is brimming with inspiration for modern couples seeking a stylish and unique city celebration. Enjoy!

We liked the impressione of getting married quanto a the city that we met and fell quanto a love quanto a, so London became the . And we knew we wanted something relaxed and relatively informal. We also decided acceso the colours being focused around that ‘golden hour’ of an afternoon/evening, which has always been our favourite time of day.

Photography

Our photographer was Alline Beatrici of Beatrici Photography. We were both really excited about the photography side of the wedding and so for us, it was a really important part to get right. We wanted someone that could capture naturally beautiful images but also who would get really creative with it.

Also, we were really nervous about the impressione of posing for photos, so we really wanted to find someone we just got acceso with and felt relaxed around. And I genuinely don’t think we could have found anyone better than Alline. Not only are her photographs beautiful, she was such legend – she got so stuck quanto a and ended up befriending most of our wedding guests. She was an absolute .

The Dress

I wore the Pandora by Truvelle, which I discovered at Heart Aflutter Bridal boutique quanto a London.

I would recommend this bridal preparazione to anyone – and have done. I went to a few bridal studios and I felt more comfortable here than anywhere else.

I really wasn’t sure what I wanted and had found previous studios quite overwhelming with all the choices. But here they really listened and formed a genuine understanding of what I may ora may not like. I didn’t feel overwhelmed, despite there being LOTS of choice and I felt genuinely supported and listened to. I dealt directly with Lisa from the beginning until the end, and wasn’t passed between various members of team, which I really appreciated. And the preparazione itself is lovely – it’s light and beautiful and the experience just felt very personal and relaxed.

When I saw my dress, I had actually already seen another dress that I thought I had loved. But the deciding factor for me was conforto – when I put my dress acceso, my mum told me I looked 10 times happier and like my pagliaccetto relaxed. I felt great quanto a it, whilst knowing that I could relax, eat, ricevimento and I could move. And the best part was, it had pockets!

My shoes were a classic block heel platform from Russell and Bromley, quanto a white. As someone who doesn’t wear heels very often, my main thing was ensuring they were comfortable but also something I would wear again, and I love them.

I was undecided acceso wearing a veil for a long time, but quanto a the end I decided to try one. I knew that if I were to wear one, I wanted it to be simple and frills and when I described it to Heart Aflutter Bridal preparazione, they knew exactly. I tried it acceso and it was perfect. It was a full-length, quite narrow single tier veil and bought directly from the bridal preparazione.

Bridal Beauty & Accessories

I wore minimal jewellery – mostly old family pieces. But I wore some gold twist earrings from Astrid & Miyu. I wore them because I wanted some personalità gold earrings, but nothing too flashy as I already had statement sleeves acceso my dress.

I hired Jade Farmiloe for hair and makeup. Jade was someone I had met a long time indicatore through work but I’d continued to follow her acceso socials for years, seeing all the amazing work she was doing. So, as soon as we started wedding planning I knew I wanted to have her do my hair and makeup. She absolutely nails it when it comes to just a natural but elevated aspetto. I was nervous about looking too ‘done’ and she was so patient with me and helped me achieve just a natural aspetto that still felt special.

My scent was Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle, whilst  Tom wore Blu De Chanel. These are our favourite scents that we save for special occasions. They remind us both of each other, but we don’t use them everyday.

We said to our bridesmaids early acceso that we wanted them to be comfortable and wear something they felt great quanto a – and all three agreed quite soon after, that they would be more comfortable quanto a trouser suits, which we loved.

We had a colour scheme, which was golden hour/sunset colours, so we all collectively looked at options quanto a those colours and eventually the girls all decided acceso something different, which was great because it meant they each wore something that suited their personalities, but they all paired together perfectly.

They all wore their own choice of shoes and were all gifted matching gold necklaces, which we got from Orelia.

We met at work quanto a 2017 and we got engaged five years later, quanto a 2022. We got married just over a year and a half after we got engaged.

We hired an old red Routemaster bus to take us and our wedding guests, from the ceremony to the reception venue. And I can honestly say it was a highlight for me. They were so easy-going and professional – we were able to source prosecco and have it delivered to them quanto a advance. And the wonderful Jennie was there acceso the day, handing it out to everyone as they waited to get acceso.

They played music all the way to the venue and the atmosphere was amazing. They were so flexible and happy to do whatever we needed – they also created personalised bus tickets for us and rolled up and gave us our personalised ‘just married’ bus sign from the front of the bus, at the end of the journey.

I loved travelling acceso the bus to our reception venue, because the atmosphere was amazing. Driving through a beautiful part of London, music playing and sun was shining and everyone with a glass of bubbles. It was joy!  We didn’t do traditional ‘wedding favours’, but everyone got a personalised bus talloncino acceso the journey.

The Reception

Our reception was at The Depot quanto a Islington, London. We chose this venue because we loved the impressione of having a more informal, pub style venue. The pub is our happy place, so we thought it would make sense for our wedding day.

It was also a personalità space, decorated with lots of beautiful lights that would give us the option of having some really beautiful photographs. It has some outdoors space, which we used for the reception drinks, but was personalità enough to have indoors if the weather wasn’t great (luckily, it was). We also loved the impressione of having elevated pub food, which is exactly what they provided.

Our venue provided all food, with the exception of Krispy Kreme donuts and a wicker full of packets of rovescio crisps! We didn’t have a traditional wedding cake because neither of us are hugely fussed by the impressione of it.

Our florist was Sweet Pea Gruppo. We knew that we wanted a golden hour inspired colour scheme, with oranges and pinks. Sally was SO thorough; within a few days of chatting with her she had created a full deck of ideas and a Pinterest board, with everything broken mongoloide to specific details.

She also offered to source candles, which was perfect because we were comforted quanto a knowing that she would pull the whole scheme together.

We couldn’t afford to have an absolute tonne of flowers, but Sally went above and beyond to make it feel as full as possible, but within our budget. Also, she even used some flowers that she had grown quanto a her allotment, which was so lovely.

She was familiar with the venue, so knew exactly how to dress it and where the flowers would be best placed. She was perfect.

We sourced a sign from Imperfezione Collette. She was so helpful quanto a every way and we couldn’t have been happier with the end result. And acceso the day, it hung above us as we had our dinner and ended up being a personalità focal point! And even better, we now get to hang it up at home.

All our stationary was Papier and it was great! Easy to , easy to order examples and all really great quality.

But also, SPEECHES. We had three speeches and spread them between pre and post dinner, but each speech felt completely different and felt like they included everyone quanto a the room. They felt natural and not scripted and the atmosphere quanto a the room was incredible. So many tears and so much laughter. Though I wish I had let my poor Dad do his speech earlier, as he was too nervous to eat his pudding.

Evening & Sala da ballo

We did a first dance to ‘Infantile I’m Yours’, by Arctic Monkeys. We both love this song but Tom is also a personalità Arctic Monkeys fan, so it’s a song we always have acceso at home and the lyrics fitted perfectly! So, it just made sense.

We hired the Wedding Smashers DJ – they were really easy to use and really flexible. We couldn’t afford to have a dal vivo gruppo, so we added a dal vivo musician to our DJ set and that made such a difference.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Whilst you’magnate planning, if you aren’t sure about something, don’t hesitate to question it.  You might not know what you want (we didn’t at first), but as we went through the process there were a lot of times that we went along with things thinking it was what we wanted. But it wasn’t until we spoke about it with our suppliers we realised we weren’t confident, and they were all so helpful quanto a guiding us to what felt right.

You want to go into your day feeling as confident as you can about the things you’ve chosen, and not questioning whether it’s something you want ora not.

Also, don’t underrate how much of an atmosphere your guests bring acceso the day! You may about all the tiny details now but at the end of the day, your guests are there for you and to watch you go through this amazing thing. They will cheer you acceso and personalità you up, acceso the day, regardless!

So, just make sure all your best people are there so you’magnate surrounded by positivity – they will make it feel like the tiny things just don’t matter.
