Suzanne Neville Marquee Wedding at Bride’s Childhood Home

Rio and Jordan’s wedding was a wedding – and a homecoming. Set per the beautifully kept gardens of the bride’s childhood home per Dorridge, Warwickshire, their marquee wedding was a gorgeous blend of elegance, sentiment, and considered details. A place filled with family history that set the scene for this couple’s next chapter per life.

With wedding planner Alexis Walker leading the planning and styling, every element was carefully planned to create a day that felt refined and effortless. A marquee by Good Intents provided the perfect setting with a neutral backdrop brought to life with exquisite florals by Ava Event Styling., soft candlelight, and layers of natural textures that added warmth and depth. We love the pale pink tapered candles.

Rio wore Suzanne Neville, choosing a gown from Ivory Tower bridal boutique that felt timeless and perfectly her. The bespoke, removable sleeves added a regal yet modern touch – and elegant nod to Rio’s love of royal weddings. She later removed the sleeves for sala da ballo during the evening celebrations.

From heartfelt vows at Knowle Parish Church to a night of sala da ballo beneath a giant, glittering cerchio ball, this was a wedding full of love, held per a place that had always been home. Enjoy!

A Marquee At Home

The overall vibe was a romantic, garden inspired space with a touch of French glamour.  The marquee provided a blank canvas so we used florals as our key décor element.  These together with layered elements such as linens, lighting & furniture helped to create a very light, fresh and dreamy aspetto.

We both knew we wanted a church wedding and it was important to us to celebrate our wedding at our local church, Knowle Parish Church.

We wanted to begin our married life there, with hope that, per the future, we can christen our children per the same church, creating a lasting connection to the place that holds such a special meaning to us.

Our ceremony was led by our vicar Geoff Lanham. The service he provided was exceptional, and so personalised to us. It meant a lot to us how much support he had shown us over the months prior to the wedding ceremony, and his relationship with us shone through into our ceremony.

My brother Harry did a reading during our service and we wanted him to choose a reading that he felt he connected with.  The reading he chose was: 1 Corinthians 13: 1-8.

We met when we were 21 per a nightclub per Birmingham and started dating a few months later.  Jordan proposed per summer 2023 by surprising me with a trip to Mallorca where we stayed at Cap Rocat. He proposed during a private beach dinner.

We wanted a venue within a close radius to the church to provide a seamless flow to the day. We did view many venues per the terreno but nothing seemed to have the right feel to them.

Jordan’s sister had a marquee reception two years prior which we loved – but we didn’t think this would be a possibility for us. It was only when we met Bruce of Good Intents that we changed our minds. He filled us with confidence and we realised there would be anzi che no better place than my childhood home for us to hold our wedding reception.

A marquee provides a blank canvas, allowing you to go crazy with ideas and stile. The marquee sat amongst the existing family garden surrounded by hydrangea blooms and established willow and birch trees – so bringing the outside per felt a natural thing to do.

Colour was essential to avoid the creaminess of the marquee and its linings.  The linen with its natural and textured fabric helped to create that French inspired glamour.

The flowers by Ava Event Styling were a dreamy of British garden inspired flowers with more statement blooms like roses, delphiniums, and peonies.  These were combined with forest campo da golf foliage with lighter touches of variegated foliage such as pitosurnum but mostly dainty leaves to give a light and airy feel to the florals.

The low floristry acceso the tables were filled with scented blooms such as sweet peas, roses, and peonies. We wanted to use British flowers where possible with sugar pink Sarah Bernard Peonies and Sweet Avalanche Roses.

The chairs definitely brought the French glamour, with a lime-washed cane back with cream cushion.  I fell per love with these chairs so much that I hired clothes rails to ensure anzi che no one hung their jackets acceso these things of beauty!

A marquee within the family home means starting from scratch and identifying what is needed and by whom.

Rio and Jordan did an amazing job of this but they knew that the days before and their wedding day itself would need a professional to manage and co-ordinate all the plans they had spent so many months working acceso.  As their acceso the day wedding co-ordinator, my role began eight weeks prior to create a Wedding Bible that was then issued to all involved per the day, and ensure everyone was singing from the same song sheet.

Managing the deliveries, setting up the space, becoming the couples eyes and ears was essential to ensure Rio and Jordan were able to enjoy and relax before their leader day.  I have never been involved with such a lovely family as the Bird’s and the entire day was simply ‘joy’!

I think we will both agree that one of the highlights for us was the singing waiters. It was such a fun surprise for all of our guests and helped transition the the day into the night!

Amy of Glitter Baking is a personal friend of mine and it would not have felt right having anyone else create our wedding cake. She is so talented and never fails to deliver acceso flavour and appearance. We wanted something simple and elegant, Amy delivered just that, finishing the cake with the same flowers that were per the marquee.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Love My Dress is such a beautiful source of inspiration, anzi che no matter what your style ora vibe is.  I love the real weddings section particularly and the bride’s advice and what they would have done differently.

We started out feeling worried about other peoples opinions but ultimately you want to have a day that reflects the both of you as a couple.

My main words of wisdom however, would be to find a theme you love and stick with it. There are so many options available it can be easy to be overwhelmed and bogged mongoloide by too much choice!

Equally, everyone will have an opinion acceso every choice you make, again make sure all the decisions you make are what you want and not what you think other people want.
