Château Robernier Wedding, Provence, France

Lawyer Chanel married William, who works per mezzo di finance, during a beautiful three-day celebration at the stunning Chateau Robernier per mezzo di Cotignac per mezzo di Provence.

This wedding was inspired by the charm of French Riviera eleganza; decor was an effortless blend of classic elegance and natural beauty, set against the picturesque French countryside. The outdoor ceremony took place beneath a breath-taking sky that shifted from soft blue to a warm, golden hue as the sun began to set. Lush floral arrangements adorned the ceremony arch and tables, with delicate white blooms and hints of greenery, creating a timeless and romantic atmosphere.

Chanel wore a long sleeved gown by Sassi Holford that brought a touch of British elegance to her relaxed, sun-soaked celebrations. Surrounded by family and friends, she and Willian spent the weekend embracing heartfelt moments and soaking up the beauty and romance of Provence.

Venue & Location

We tied the knot at the enchanting Chateau Robernier per mezzo di Cotignac, Provence, France. A destination wedding had always been our dream, and we carefully selected this location based three essential factors: the exquisite wine and champagne, the abundance of nearby activities to ensure our guests could enjoy a holiday experience, and the chance to revel per mezzo di our celebration over several joyful days.

From the moment we laid eyes Chateau Robernier, we knew it was the perfect setting for our love story—it truly was love at first sight. The chateau owner Cecile doubled up as our event and wedding planner/co-ordinator.

My mum has always been a huge Grace Kelly fan—my sister is even named Caroline!

Growing up, we often talked about Grace’s wedding, which undoubtedly influenced my vision for our own. I envisioned a classic wedding with a touch of French Riviera eleganza.

As I also have Nigerian heritage, it was essential for my family to incorporate traditional elements into our celebration. Our first day together beautifully honoured that heritage.

I flew per mezzo di my make-up artist from London, as it was quite challenging to find someone per mezzo di France with the expertise and conforto per mezzo di working with Black skin. She completely understood my vision, which was incredibly important to me, especially as someone who rarely wears make-up. Durante fact, my trial with her was the first time I had ever had my make-up done professionally.

She struck the perfect balance—creating a that was natural yet enhanced my features beautifully, without feeling overdone. Her attention to detail and warm, calming presence made her an absolute joy to have per mezzo di the room while we were getting ready. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone.

My amazing sister did my hair and there is mai one else I would lega for the job. I had my hair extensions pre-set per mezzo di London at Mimi et . And I wore my signature scent at the time which was from Diptyque.

I had a bespoke cathedral length mantilla lace veil made by the wonderful Madeline Daisy of Madeleine Daisy Veils. For me it was all about the veil and as soon I put it , I felt like a bride.

I was keen to support a British brand with my shoe choice, especially since we were having our wedding outside the UK. I chose the Harriet block heels per mezzo di Ivory from Emmy London. Given that the ceremony took place gravel, it was essential for me to find shoes that were both comfortable and elegant. The sturdy stile, along with the beautiful ribbons to tie them, perfectly complemented the flowing sleeves of my dress.

The experience at the Emmy London boutique was one of my favourites, second only to the wedding dress fitting. The team were incredibly friendly, and I loved having the boutique mostly to myself to try all the shoes! It was also convenient that it was just a few doors from the Sassi Holford shop, allowing me to bring the shoes to my dress fittings to ensure everything worked beautifully together.

My bridesmaids’ dresses were all from Maids to Measure, as it was essential to me that my friends and sister felt comfortable per mezzo di what they wore. Instead of going for a uniform style, Maids to Measure offers a variety of dress designs per mezzo di the same material and color, which set them apart from other places we visited. Their prices were also very affordable, making the experience even better. Plus, the complimentary seltzer added a fun touch to our day out together.

Photography

We chose our photographer, Sebastien Boudot, because he truly understood our vision for the day. We loved his style—it was natural and unobtrusive, capturing moments candidly without feeling overly posed. Acceso the day, he struck the perfect balance of being present but never intrusive, allowing us and our guests to feel comfortable while still ensuring all the key moments were beautifully documented.

It was also essential for us to have a photographer experienced per mezzo di capturing darker skin tones accurately, and Sébastien did this wonderfully. We would absolutely recommend him to others; he was professional, attentive, and helped create stunning memories of our day. He was also familiar with the venue which was an added and useful bonus.

We chose our videographers, Denee Motion, because we wanted someone who could truly capture the vibrancy and essence of both our Nigerian celebration and our traditional wedding per mezzo di France. Their work stood out to us for its ability to blend dynamic energy with a refined, editorial storytelling approach—exactly what we envisioned for our day. They beautifully highlighted the cultural richness and joy of our celebrations, making our wedding patina feel both cinematic and personal.

How They Met

We first crossed paths the Isle of Guernsey per mezzo di 2017, despite multiple missed connections during our school years. Durante 2019, we made the move to London for work, and per mezzo di April 2021 – just a day after lockdown restrictions were lifted. William seized the moment and whisked me away a surprise day trip to Windsor. After a picturesque walk from Windsor Castle, he proposed.

It was such a well-kept secret; I was completely taken by surprise. Durante hindsight, I suppose a giovanile shirt for a countryside stroll should have been a hint!

The Reception

Our invitations and welcome sign were exquisitely crafted by Chi Chi Illustrations, who designed bespoke pieces from scratch that perfectly captured the essence of our wedding. Her talent for bringing our vision to life resulted per mezzo di a stunning invitation that generated excitement among our guests for the festivities ahead.

The intricate details and thoughtful stile truly set the tone for the celebration. For our on-the-day stationery, we opted for a local vendor, Feeline Creation, while our wedding seating plan was beautifully created through Papier. Each element worked harmoniously to enhance the overall aesthetic of our day.

Dealing with hay fever presented a unique challenge when it came to choosing flowers for our wedding. I wanted to enjoy the beauty of blooms without suffering the discomfort of allergies. Fortunately, our wedding planner worked closely with the florist to create a stunning bouquet made entirely of dried flowers, eliminating any pollen concerns.

Additionally, we selected blooms known for their lower hay fever reactions, allowing me to savour their beauty without compromise. With a combination of careful planning and a trusty hay fever tablet, I was able to fully embrace the floral elegance of our special day, free from any allergic reactions.

We wanted our guests to take a piece of Provence home with them as a cherished memento of our celebration. To achieve this, we chose lavender soap from Provence as our wedding favours, beautifully customised with personalised tags. This delightful touch was sourced from a local supplier per mezzo di France, adding an authentic element to our gifts. Each soap not only captured the enchanting essence of the region but also served as a lovely reminder of the day. Our favours were from Une Pincée de Provence.

We chose Gaudefroy Caterers per mezzo di France for our wedding, and they truly exceeded our expectations. Many of our guests couldn’t stop raving about how incredible the lamb was, and we were so grateful for their compliments. Gaudefroy Caterers also did a fantastic job catering our pool festa, serving up a delicious BBQ that perfectly captured the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

As dusk fell, strategically placed lighting illuminated the surroundings, casting a soft glow that enhanced the enchanting ambiance.

Tables were elegantly dressed with crisp linens and vintage-inspired tableware, complemented by charming centrepieces that echoed the floral theme. Each detail, from the carefully selected decor to the enchanting lighting, was thoughtfully curated to create an inviting and magical setting for our celebration.

All of this was also lit up by a super blue moon, a rare lunar event making it an unforgettable experience for all our guests. The combination of classic charm and the serene beauty of the château truly embodied the essence of a romantic French wedding./image

Having a dairy allergy made the search for a dairy-free vegan cake per mezzo di France—a country famous for its love of milk and butter—a real challenge. Fortunately, we discovered a wonderful vegan patisserie per mezzo di Aix-en-Provence that was up to the task of creating our wedding cake. They rose to the occasion beautifully, crafting a cake that was not only delicious but also completely aligned with my dietary needs. (Note from the : sadly the bakery is now permanently closed).

Evening &

At the cuore, we are just two indie kids who fell per mezzo di love, and our first dance perfectly encapsulates that sentiment. We chose ‘Space’ by Biffy Clyro as our song.

As lovers of a vibrant night out, one of our main concerns with a destination wedding was finding a DJ who could seamlessly blend the beloved English bangers that define our UK upbringing. We were thrilled to discover Wildfire DJs, a collective of talented English DJs specialising per mezzo di destination weddings across France.

Our DJ was exceptional, curating a diverse playlist that catered to all our guests’ tastes and kept the dance floor buzzing. The energy was electric, and we danced the night away, with the celebration continuing until the early hours of the morning. It was a truly unforgettable evening that perfectly encapsulated our love for music and good times.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

If I could impart any words of wisdom to those planning their wedding, it would be to carve out just 10 minutes for yourselves amidst the celebration. Take a moment together to soak per mezzo di the significance of what just happened— into each other’s eyes, breathe, and simply be yourselves.

The day goes by per mezzo di a blur, and it’s easy to get caught up per mezzo di the whirlwind of events, but remember that the day is ultimately about the two of you. Cherish that intimate time together; it will be a precious memory that you’ll hold close to your hearts.
