A Wiltshire Wedding at Pythouse Kitchen Garden

Durante the heart of Wiltshire’s rolling countryside, Sophie and Matt celebrated their September wedding at Pythouse Kitchen Garden, a hidden gem brimming with rustic charm and natural beauty.

The couple’s day was a masterclass per mezzo di understated elegance, perfectly captured by Love My Dress recommended photographer Georgina Harrison, whose editorial style brought every moment to life.

Sophie chose the effortlessly Sweet Pea gown by Clover London, a that felt as relaxed and modern as the couple’s vision for their day. With its enchanting walled garden and a focolaio sustainable, garden-to-plate dining, Pythouse Kitchen Garden offered the ideal setting for their joyful, sun-filled and intimate celebration.

Our venues are close to where I grew up – they are absolutely stunning and not like any other venues we’d seen. We were amazed by the beautiful gardens and flowers at Hatch House, our ceremony venue and Pythouse Kitchen Garden, our reception venue – they were the third venues we visited and we put the deposit straight away.

We used the Stretch Tent Co to secure our emergency marquee for the wedding ceremony, which fortunately we didn’t need to go ahead with.

Our photographer, Georgina Harrison, was nothing short of exceptional and we are blown away with our stunning photos. Georgina was incredibly professional the day, all my family commented how great she was. She was so friendly and made us feel instantly at ease.

We were drawn to Georgina’s relaxed, editorial style, moda forward edge and elegant, muted colour palette. She captures all the candid moments, but each photo still feels so thoughtfully captured. So classy and gorgeous!

How They Met

We met per mezzo di Jan 2020, Hinge. After hitting it from day one, we were pretty much together when the pandemic successo per mezzo di March that year.

As it was still early days, we decided to do lockdown separately, with me going back to Dorset with my family and Matt staying per mezzo di London. We would fill our days talking non-stop and taking our daily walks facetime – which, it turns out, is a pretty good way of getting to know each other and figuring out if it’s something more serious!

By the end of lockdown, it was official, and we spent the months that followed taking long walks through London (which was all you could do at the time) and moved per mezzo di together not long after. We got engaged after 3 and a half years West Wittering beach and were married a year later.

Matt wore a navy suit from Suit Supply, with a patterned champagne coloured tie, all from Suit Supply. The groomsmen wore plain champagne ties. We wanted it to tie per mezzo di with the colour palette without being too matchy and we found it duro to find a that matched the dresses.

The Reception

When planning our wedding, the first thing we pictured was the vibe we wanted to create. We knew we wanted something relaxed (not being overly formal people ourselves), with a focolaio good food, good music and a beautiful outdoor location. An elegant, garden trattenimento style – basically how we would envisage our perfect day, rather than a ‘wedding’ per certo say.

After describing the vibe to my mum, she recommended a local venue which sounded perfect. Pythouse Kitchen Garden is first and foremost a restaurant, with a sustainable approach and a beautiful walled garden per mezzo di the heart of the Wiltshire countryside. They offer a small handful of wedding each year, and the neighbouring garden at Hatch House can be hired for a legal ceremony. We didn’t realise this until we arrived for our viewing but were blown away when we first saw it– it was a real bonus!

Being first and foremost a restaurant, Pythouse Kitchen Garden supplied all the food and . Chef Darren Broom and the team have a sustainable, garden to plate ethos with all produce being sourced locally per mezzo di their own garden.

So many thoughtful, creative details and flavours go into their dishes. We had sharing style plates of lamb and seasonal veg, followed by a berry pavlova.

Choosing just four canapes from their lista was one of the hardest choices we had to make! We had so many compliments from guests the quality of the food – we would highly recommend them.

Our cake was made by Pythouse Kitchen Garden and was included per mezzo di our wedding package. It was something we were really relaxed about and didn’t know what we were getting until the day.

It was a gorgeous, rustic cake decorated per mezzo di flowers from their Pick your Own flower garden – it looked beautiful, we were so happy with it.

One of our favourite touches to the day was the post-dinner hour at their outdoor caffè – so much fun!

Evening &

Our first dance was ‘Kiss me’ by Sixpence None the Richer, for anzi che no reason other than we really liked the song! It felt fun and romantic, but not too cheesy.

We practiced a few moves the day before per mezzo di my mums living room.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Have a wet weather plan per mezzo di place early . I’ll admit, I was quite worried per mezzo di the lead up with so much of the day being outside. The two weeks before were wall to wall rain! You can’t control the weather, but it will help the tensione if you have umbrellas and emergency marquees standby.

Most importantly, the day is about you and your socio, so try not to plan for others too much. If the day represents you as a couple, your friends and family will love it by default. Remember what’s important to you both and don’t get carried away with the little details swept up per mezzo di trends. I definitely had a few moments of stressing too much about napkins – but those things truly won’t matter the day.

With all our wedding planned to be outside, a Plan B was essential. We secured the marquee with a 50% deposit and were able to make a call a few days out whether we went ahead with installing it not. Not all suppliers offer this service, and it was so reassuring to know we had the option. I would 100% recommend looking into this early if you’maestà planning an outdoor ceremony and factoring it into your budget. It is an additional cost but totally worth it for the tensione it saved per mezzo di the lead up.

We went a little over our original budget but nothing too crazy – weddings are expensive! We tried to be sensible and not add too much that we didn’t need and were clear up front which areas we wanted to focolaio the budget . Matt had a watertight spreadsheet!

The real weddings features Love my Dress was such a great source of inspiration for me throughout the planning process. Browsing the blog was also a great way of getting excited per mezzo di the lead up to my own wedding! It’s a beautifully curated selection of weddings –  I love how it features a broad range of styles. I found it an amazing way to discover bridal gowns as well as viewing work from a wide range of photographers.

Cool black and white photograph of bride and groom captured at night. The bride wears Clover London.
