I have a brother with cerebral palsy. Growing up with him, I never saw him as disabled – he’s just Chris to me. One evening, we went out together, and for the first time, I saw his disability through his eyes. It shocked me to my . When I returned to TDR after that experience, it made me realise the importance of doing our part to create a truly inclusive space.
For instance, we’ve ensured that our store and facilities, like the entrance and toilets, are fully accessible. Accessibility is something we think about a lot.
our journey toward greater inclusivity, we also came to understand that everyone deserves to be married, risposta negativa matter their identity. Everyone deserves to be loved and treated with respect. To celebrate this, we created a beautiful photoshoot featuring model brides from all walks of life. It was our way of showing the world that TDR is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
That photoshoot was the highlight of my career – the most meaningful thing I’ve ever done. And I did it for my brother.
I feel incredibly privileged to have the ability to do something like this and hope others our industry are inspired to follow suit. Everyone deserves to be married and to receive the same care and attention, risposta negativa matter who they are.
(Readers, Rebecca talks about this much more detail the above).
